CLUB WILL BE ON HIATUS UNTIL MAY 2008

Reason: Clubmistress =MissingHorcrux is such a good college student. :D

If you have any questions or concerns, please send the clubmistress a note at her original deviantART account (which she will be checking as much as possible).

This isn't your ordinary club.

And we're not just saying that. This isn't just another Photoshop tutorial club. This club accepts all tutorials - and by all, we really mean all. Anything from writing, to openCanvas, to photography, to cooking - even deviantART tips. You think of it, we'll have it.

How to join:

Important note: You are not required to make tutorials as a member! Feel free to join if all you need is a little help. That's what we're here for!

To become a member of Tips and Tricks, just watch the club to keep track of all the latest updates and submissions - that's it!

How to submit tutorials, tips, and tricks:

Important note: You do not have to be a member to submit to this club.

Simply send the club a note with the title "Submission" and the link to your tutorial. The club will re-post your tutorial as a deviation of our own, with credits to you and a link back to your original tutorial.

Rules:

Do not comment on, or favorite the deviations submitted through this club - instead, follow the link to the original deviation and let the original maker of the tutorial know what you think.

Obviously, please adhere to deviantART's policies on pornographic material (seen here), do not insult other peoples' works, and do not insult other people in the club.

Announcements:

We know nobody obsessively stops by our page to read the "headlines" section of our main journal, so we thought we'd make this just for you - our members - to keep you all informed about the latest news.

(Newest entries are on the top.)

January 28, 2008:

I apologize profusely for being inactive for such long periods of time, but it seems this semester of college has prepared a gruelling pile of workload for me to do (including preparing to write my 30-page long senior thesis - very scary stuff).

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that this club has to go on a hiatus until May (when classes end for the summer), because there's no way I can keep up with adding all you fine people to the members list, and dish out tutorials, and report our affiliates' news every week or so, when just being on the computer right now makes me insanely guilty about wasting time (and it's only 9:30 in the morning).

I hope you all understand, but if you have any questions just send me a note to my original account and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can - I will try to maintain that account as much as possible this semester.

First off, a few announcements from our affiliates:

*ArtisanCrafts has updated their list of tutorials!

*mspaintmasters is having an Avatar: The Last Airbender contest (with extended deadline)!

New members at *ArtistsHospital need tutoring and critiques! Help them out by clicking here!

In other news, we now have more than 250 members! Thank you everyone for your support!

December 18, 2007:

Hi everyone!

I'm very sorry for the long absence and lack of updates - I just recently finished a semester studying abroad in Italy!

Right now I'm working on getting this club back in shape in time for the new year. I'm responding to all comments and notes, updating the member and affiliates list, submitting new tutorials, and many other things! Basically, expect a lot of activity on my part over the course of these next couple of weeks. ;)

Of course, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to send me a note through *TipsAndTricks (or my original accout, =MissingHorcrux)!

August 20, 2007:

Just to start out, the biggest announcement: the clubmistress is leaving to study abroad in Italy from September to January! This means, of course, little to no updates until January 2008. Sorry, guys - devo studiare il mio italiano! (That means: "I need to study my Italian!")

In other news, a few milestones we've reached:

August 2007 Contest Results:

None! We got no entries! :(

Obviously our members are just here to learn and not to teach, so we'll lay off the "make your own tutorial" contests for awhile.

Give it up for =lostsoulx44, the only participant of this contest! (She voted in an earlier version of our contest - again, the clubmistress apologizes for all the abrupt rule changes. She was trying to create a contest that would be different from all the others she'd seen, but obviously she should've thought it out a bit longer before posting it.)

As this was our first contest, we'd love to hear your feedback! What could we have done differently, added, or omitted entirely? Leave your comments on this journal, and we'll keep all your suggestions in mind for the next contest!
